Hey CJ, I just sent you a chunk of change through PayPal to go toward your heroic stance against tyranny. I have a substack as well, www.shrewviews.com, and so far I have given all of my proceeds to Druthers newspaper (an alt newspaper in Canada) and to you!! Hopefully, I will be giving more as time goes on.

I admire you, and your amazing work (which I see through your substack and also on OG where I also am published...an honour to be even remotely associated with you!) I wish you the best in continuing this fight and certainly wish you did not have to go through this. You are making a mark, at least they are trying to swat you!!

Hi Todd, I just saw notice of your very generous contribution to my legal defense fund. Thank you so much for that! The financial support that people have sent me has really blown me away, and I wouldn't have been able to defend myself in court without it. There are so many people suffering the same fate who can't afford a good lawyer to defend them. Heartfelt thanks to you and every other reader who has sent me money, or who has spread the word about the case, or otherwise helped me deal with this ridiculous prosecution.

Thank you, CJ. Needless to say, this all scares the bejesus out of me. Part of me would be honoured if my writing got the attention of the authorities that yours does, but I also know I would be totally stricken down with fear.

I figure if all this gets worse, which undoubtedly it will, any of us who are opposed to the agenda are going to be punished in some way—and that way will probably be automated so no humans have to spend the time, money and effort to do it, like shutting down bank access, or internet access, or email access...which would take nothing to do. I have already had my bank accounts frozen for a few days because I donated to the Canadian Trucker's Convoy. It doesn't take much to disrupt our world.

Again, best of luck to you with all of this. It is so insane they are doing this to you...I am reminded of those German trials during the war we can watch on YouTube...with the judge screaming at the defendant. Gives me the major creeps...and for your judge to put on the mask as she is leaving the court...good lord.

CJ I'm assuming you've read The Fourth Turning or at least understand the premise of the thesis regarding the cyclical nature of this human condition generationally over time.

Well, putting the present against the wall with a ruler on its head and measuring it against the rise of Nazi Germany, we are well past the Reichstag Fire, and based on the sounds of the beating of the drums of war in the West, I'd say we are at the equivalent of 1937 Europe.

In other words CJ and friends, we are very close to the shit hitting the fan.

Like Tom Hayen, the parallels between today and 1930s yesteryears gives me the creeps.

Of course this sucks, but a student of history may be able to take the object lessons from 1939-1945 and its aftermath which led to the present, and using that knowledge, make a game plan to find the least Fascist places on Earth to ride out the storm. Maybe. Or maybe not. As Einstein say, "I don't know about World War 3, but World War 4 will be fought with sticks and stones."

We're within 5 years of dissidents being placed against the wall or guillotined (remember White Rose folks) as the authoritarians molt the last of their skin and morph into their true natures.

It's past time to plan an escape strategy CJ.

“Sorry you’ve been cast in this role, CJ, but I can't think of a better person to fill it.” (https://substack.com/@margaretannaalice/note/c-48764095)

I meant what I said in my article about this the other day, CJ:

“I fervently hope CJ will turn his experience into a full-length play and that The Verdict will become The Crucible of this century, with his play and the one-act of his courtroom coup de grace against New Normal fascism being performed all over the world and in multiple languages for centuries to come. May his historic speech serve as a continual reminder of how close civilization came to falling into the abyss of totalitarianism and how it was courageous dissenters like CJ and the Canadian truckers who pulled us back from the brink of self-annihilation.” (https://margaretannaalice.substack.com/p/a-good-day-for-freedom-truth-and)

Please tell me that play is in the works, CJ. This must be memorialized as a testament to the madness of these times to help bring this tragicomedy to a curtain close and prevent future remakes.

Thanks, Margaret, but I seem to be doing most of my theatrical writing for real life these days, the theater having been reduced to a kind of animated wax museum for the simulated aristocracy, or an incestuous after-school activity for the terminally woke, or something. (See Clifton Duncan for details.)

Expand full comment
Margaret Anna Alice's avatar

Oh yes, I’m well-aware the conventional theater world has been corrupted beyond redemption, but that just means it’s time to create parallel grassroots alternatives. Simply having the play in written form would be significant, but I understand writing that on top of living this performance may be too much all at once. You could tackle it in hindsight, but the way things are going, it may never end 😆

So in lieu of that, I could see people performing your speech on street corners, in coffee shops, in churches, wherever people are gathered. Maybe get Clifton in on the act :-) Performances could be filmed and disseminated online for viralization to raise awareness about this absurdist plot. It’s time to break the fourth wall and bring theater directly to the people.

Probably 95% of justice in America consists of defendants trying to come up with a defense using a lawyer that costs over $200/hr to defend against government autocrats with nearly unlimited budgets, being judged by politically connected judges who consider their party before they consider the law. A plea of guilty is no reason to presume that the defendant is really guilty. It is very likely that he had no real choice.

They used to say, "Justice for some." Now they say, "Justice for sum." I didn't used to be so negative. But I've kept my eyes open my entire life, and I won't deny what's there to be seen.

And the USA is now a bnana republic. Until three years ago, I thought that would NEVER happen in the USA. Donald Trump is being politically persecuted. There are useful idiots who are sure it's all legitimate legal prosecution for actual crimes. But those of us with our eyes open know better. I used to be opposed to Trump. But I have never been blind to the truth. I am not going to engage with you on the statistics. What I can do is to remind you that many millions were killed. And this, from Gore Vidal:

“I was present when Christopher Isherwood reminded a Zionist that 300,000 homosexuals were also killed in the camps.

The man said: ‘But how can you compare, 300,000 against six million?’

Isherwood asked: ‘What are you, in Real Estate?’”

The Nazis killed over 12,000,000 in their campaign of death. One of my grandfathers was among them. I don’t know if he was Jewish, and I can proudly say that I don’t care, because death is the final solidarity, they are as one.

Mattias Desmet (take or leave him, don't need to hear it) pointed out that those enforcing the "lie" don't need to believe it in their hearts. They just want the rush of relief. Conformity and punishing outliers is their version of submitting to a "higher authority" to make the pain stop. It is torture on a massive scale, conscripting victims to enforce for an illusion of relief. Their definition of truth is comfort, however temporary or hard-won. When it doesn't work out, they compartmentalize even further, like an addicted gambler doubling-down instead of cutting losses.

Greetings Mr. Hopkins. I've been following your thoughts since the Black Death 2.0 back in 2020. I too am an expat, came to Germany around the same time you did. This is why I am surprised that somewhere along the way you did not learn that if a swastika in any form — whether the size of a kernel of corn, in any type of imagery, drawn in the sand with a stick at the beach, carved in a pumpkin, exhaled by a cigarette smoker into a demonically generated “Sonnenrad”, sharply focused or barely visible like that which you used —if this evil symbol should appear anywhere within Germany's borders -- if even a lone one-eyed man stricken with cataracts should catch a fleeting glimpse of it, he would in that moment suffer a kind of seizure and immediately run out into the street, arm raised in the "Hitler Gruß",goose-stepping through the neighborhood and screaming the “Horst Wessel Lied” at the top of his lungs. This simply won’t do, Mr. Hopkins. Imagine the contagion that would ensue, which would make covid, which claimed countless millions of souls, seem like a widespread outbreak of athlete’s foot. That said, in all seriousness now, I will say a little prayer that this lunacy will soon be behind you. All the best!

From Wikipedia:

All members of the Council of Europe (which includes nearly all European countries and every member of the European Union) have adopted the European Convention on Human Rights.[10] The optional Protocol No. 7 to the convention, Article 4, protects against double jeopardy: "No one shall be liable to be tried or punished again in criminal proceedings under the jurisdiction of the same State for an offence for which he or she has already been finally acquitted or convicted in accordance with the law and penal procedure of that State."[11]

All EU states ratified this optional protocol except for Germany, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands.[12] In those member states, national rules governing double jeopardy may or may not comply with the provision cited above.

In other countries, there are in some cases options to retry if new evidence has been found or if the accused has made a credible confession of guilt, neither of which apply here, obviously.

Just for context. Sorry to hear this, CJ. Fucking kangaroo court bullshit.
