Unfortunately, the Israeli military has a history of underestimating the vitriolic hatred it faces from the Arab nations surrounding it - an error which, when compounded with the hubris of Israeli leaders who place undue confidence in their own technological superiority, led to being surprised by the 1973 Yom Kippur war, and again on 10/7.
