SO you basically have a Stasi agent prosecuting you?

CJ Hopkins's avatar

In the slightly revised words of Captain Willard, "Sir, I am unaware of any such activity or operation... nor would I be disposed to discuss such an operation if it did in fact exist, sir."

marlene's avatar

Is there any reason for anyone to live in Germany?

Johnny-O's avatar

If people run scared at the incoming totalitarianism, then they have already won.

marlene's avatar

Clever indeed. And true. While in America, we won't always know when it's over until it's too late. And where would Americans be welcome? But Germany has been a dystopian nightmare for, well, almost forever. And for now, America would welcome them. As you can see, I just proved your point - lol.

Caroline Ayers's avatar

It's not that different anywhere else, or at least it wont be soon...

SheilaB's avatar

It's not about Germany. As an example, in Northern Ireland they're running a 'consultation' about a Health Bill, right now. A 'consultation' means there's online stuff for people to look at and answer if they know it's there. But there's no reason for people to know it's there because their representatives aren't telling them. And it's designed in such a way as to provide leading questions and make you seem to approve things you don't approve of. And if you don't engage with it, they will assume approval anyway.

The health bill, which will no doubt end up going through successfully, because that's the way of things these days, will bring about a permanent extension of emergency powers re 'pandemics' and other sundry challenges to public safety and health; plus forced medical treatments, forced quarantine, forced re-education, forced 'vaccination' and anything else you can think of that is related and can be forced, plus lots of things you probably won't think of.

Coming to the rest of us in due course. So none of this is specific to Germany.

Iris Weston's avatar

I keep asking that too. Well, apart from the excellent bratwurst.

marlene's avatar

Why would someone live in Germany if they didn't have to?

Angk's avatar

That's like asking why would anyone live in the blue states of the USA - New York, Illinois, California, and Washington to name a few. Not everyone can up and move. And, if you can find a "run to" place their so hammered with escapees, home seems better at the moment. But. In reading countless stories of WWII, it's tragic to read about those who waited and suffered horrific consequences.

BTW Some Substack articles need a 👍, not a ❤️.

There are definitely times to read the signs, and up sticks and move to another country. I did in 2008 from U.K to Portugal. I couldn't afford to go back now so be prepared to burn your bridges.

Iris Weston's avatar

Wow, sounds great! In hindsight, was that a change for the better?

Joshua Bond's avatar

Yes, though my words come back to haunt me as of this very day. There is a huge fire burning today, close to the house. Just taking a break. So far the wind is in our favour blowing the fire past our house about 3-400m away -- but it can all change in a flash.

Having said that, hindsight suggests it was the right move for us. One has to be resilient. If I think of still being in England (and we lived in a beautiful artists' fishing village by the sea), I somehow think I would have cheated myself out of a broader and deeper experience. But who knows. There are many possibilities in life, and we make our path by walking it.

Iris Weston's avatar

That's a great answer. Let your house and family be safe!

P.G. Wodehouse once said, when asked about why he didn't go back to England after WWII, "Would I find Dorking much changed?" I think you know what he meant.

I m reading your play “the extremists” and im going to try to convince my local community theater to stage it.

There is a relatively new TV show on called “the three body proble”

Its a nerdy sci fi series about extra terrestrials

But the first episode has a gripping depiction of a mao tse tung era chinese communist struggle session with a public execution of an intellectual for challenging the state dogma

I hope that you are exonerated

Obviously you didnt do anything wrong

CJ Hopkins's avatar

Thank you ... I miss the theater, terribly, sometimes.

Every crisis allows the ghouls to advance totalitarianism. This was especially the case during the scamdemic, as it gave credence to Medical Martial Law. An interesting way to control outraged proles and transfer trillions of dollars to billionaires without using bombs, bullets, or drones.

Yes, a likely scenario to be aware of- and prepped for. No matter what, we need to protect ourselves and loved ones from violence, hunger, lack of privacy- our own shelters. There’s so much info on the many schemes (already in play) that it’s difficult to keep up. I understand that. But we mustn’t forget past aggressions, to stay aware of ANY action taken, such as: taking possession of our homes “in the name of protecting the country, that it’s a sacrifice for the people in times of uncertainty.” BS!! It’s a blatant replay of commie takeover tactics, that was even a part of the civil war. Imagine having a group of soldiers stationed (forcibly) in your homes with your children, parents, spouses. How comfortable is that?! If we continue to accept what “they” say is a new law every time, they continue to march forward into the next phase of takeover. The old saying “history repeats itself,” is but a smooth-over phrase for stating that the “rule” books were made to be repeated. Very likely, in worse manners. But manners are not values we find in these degenerate criminals.

Canada, West Coast here. We are in a rain forest on the Pacific ocean. I have property, stockpiled seeds, manure and can grow and preserve my own food. And stockpiled canned and dried foods. Installed a wood stove and huge amounts of wood, easy to get here. But my adult kids are totally unaware. Very concerned about them and my grandkids. They need to know, not only the threat, but how to live independently from govt interference. From a granny alone.

Thank you so much. Nearly brings me to tears. I have searched for God for decades. I know he’s there. Haven’t found him. I’d appreciate any advice you might have. I attended several churches here. All gone woke.

It is great you can continue to offer some levity during this horrible situation you find yourself in.

The U.S. too has drifted far from its so-called "democratic principles" especially the First Amendment of freedom of speech and calling anything speech it doesn't like "hate speech" and those who speak it "terrorists". Have all these so-called "democratic" countries drifted so far from these principles that there is no hope of return to them? I fear so.

Frontera Lupita's avatar

Some alternative/dissident voices that I follow are being silenced on Instagram now. Even though a contrite Mark Zuckerberg admitted that it may have been the wrong thing to do, colluding with the US Government to censor people on Facebook and Instagram, they seem to be at it again.

ShastaBetty's avatar

Yea, and I seriously doubt they will ever stop.

Richard Kudrna's avatar

We are spiralling. Solzhenitsyn told us about our future.

Adriana J. Garces's avatar

That whole charade with the zucker dude seems off to me anyway. I’d like to find a great way to communicate without these blatant attacks on our democratic rights. I’m listening, hopeful that we remain the majority in favor of freedom. I won’t entertain the “bleak” scenarios as the only way it’s going to go down.

marlene's avatar

By the time we even hear of the threats to our representative Republic, the dominoes are already in alightment and the rest we learn in bits and pieces. So yes, I fear so too. Americans are used to paying large sums of money in taxes for the protection and safety promised in our Constitution. It's hard to get our heads around the fact that pages relevant to our security have been torn out and protection is a punishable offense. I keep hoping that we get Trump so we can relax a little bit and be better prepared after having 4 years to do so. Otherwise, if the socialist democrats & RINOS get away with pledging themselves the electors of the 2024 election like they said "no matter what", they will of course throw out pro-Trump votes and count only pro-Biden states (there won't be enough votes to count so they'll give us a fake figure for the state instead). Therefore, I suspect the democrats will be paying for states' cooperation. 2024 may be the end of our "drift" to use your words, and the beginning of the end. Except for one thing...the 2nd.

Linda Keays's avatar

Canada, West Coat here. I pray that Trump gets in. And creepy socialist Globalist traitor Trudeau is defeated 2025. Conservatives have had a twenty point lead for over a year. But Trudeau is reacting our formerly tight election rules, and massive numbers of new immigrants will vote for him. In spite of Trudeau’s efforts, all of rural Canada is still armed. God Bless America! We stand with you. MAGA! Eh?

CJ, I am hopeful someone-- a whistle blower in the government, in German MSM-- will do some covert work on "Karl's" background and cases in the GDR and expose them. You can't make this shit up, man. So,

yep, Germany is returning to its roots a century later. . .

Ulrich57's avatar

Dear CJ, let me please express again my deep regret of the fact that our beloved German „democracy“ continues to hunt you. I do understand your bitterness. Born in 1957 in just that German Democratic Republc, I used to be convinced that I had been lucky enough to live on THE RIGHT SIDE of the iron curtain. To be honest, I was not aware of that dark side of our society. Ines Karl seems to belong exactly to my generation. From my point of view she used to do the dirty job then and she is doing it now. This proves just the fact that you may find enough assholes for this kind of job anywhere and anytime. It may seem that it is her who is causing you problems, I think the truth is: the asshole is being used by „the system“. She is just the useful idiot for those in power who are afraid of people like you. Sad enough. Will try to attend the next phase of your trial on Sep 30.

I traveled through the GDR on my way to a demonstration in Berlin against the Vietnam War. That experience of witnessing the extreme fear of the people I came into contact with on that trip was slammed into my brain in such a way that I have never forgotten how harsh that totalitarian existence must have been. I can’t imagine how brainwashed people must have been to think that they were fortunate to be living there.

Awesome wonderful satire, as always; Kafka is rolling over in his grave, or Castle, his Trial by Metamorphosis. Oh, and Dick Cheney who shot his quail-hunting buddy in the face just endorsed Ka-mala Harris for President, and Ka-mala is running for Prosecutor-in-Chief, so take that, Ines Karl!

There's no room in this country for both socialist democrats and the people! One has to go. Guess who. Rulers without those to rule can't be rulers. And people. well, there's over 300 million of us. Think about it.

I have followed you for some time now. I lived in Germany for a couple of years and I understand the state power apparatus.

I wish you well.

Like those who stood up and simply said, "No Covid vaccine for me", your position is the same. This is a hill worth "dying" on.

Maybe she was running out of hate crimes so had to pick on you and make it one. Look at Fullmich. He can’t get a decent trial since being held in Germany.
