One of the hallmarks of totalitarian systems is the criminalization of dissent. Not just the stigmatization of dissent or the demonization of dissent, but the formal criminalization of dissent, and any other type of opposition to the official ideology of the totalitarian system. Global capitalism has been inching its way toward this step for quite some time, and now, apparently, it is ready to take it.
Ah Mr Cj, you do seem to have a knack or two. The knack of making me laugh when really I should be weeping, praying, demonstrating or perhaps, preparing an allotment somewhere very far from here. Here, by the way, is the Nord Oberpfalz in Germany.
Why is it that I want to disagree with you, not believe you, or at best think you’re a tad extreme.
But, alas, the inner maggot always wins and I find myself shouting a hearty Amen to your preposterous notions of a totalitarian trajectory gaining traction here in Germany.
Never before in my life have I so heartily hoped that I was wrong regarding my perception of what I see taking place before my eyes. It’s a somewhat discombobulating sensation, to be sure, a seismic cognitive dissonance of sorts I suppose. At times I feel thoroughly schizophrenic. I wonder what the source of denial truly is, the head or the heart?
I’ll not bore you any longer with my musings Mr Cj, just wanted to take the time to say I appreciate the smile you put on my face just prior to being led out to the gallows.
In truth though, as utterly hoffnungslos as it all seems, I sense hope. Where the hell does that come from? A gift of the Gods or their worst imaginable attempt at Schadenfreude?
A bit of a late arrival to your excellent site but, like many here, a very early critic/skeptic - so hi from Canada!
I must congratulate you on an excellent piece. Like others here, you did actually make me laugh (40 lashes for me!), while eloquently describing the apparent collapse of civilization, and the rapid descent into global totalitarianism we are all witnessing - although I believe there are still some simpletons out there who still think it's about a viral pandemic, god bless them.
The two quotes at the end of your article are yet more examples of the all-too-familiar but nonetheless bone-chilling rhetoric we are all subjected to these days. They reminded me of when Nicole Wallace was opining on MSNBC to her panel of 'experts' (not a viewer, I hasten to add - only followed the link someone posted) that perhaps drones should be used to wipe out the current crop of dissidents. Lovely, Nicole...thank you!
Keep up the great work, CJ - we need voices like yours, now more than ever!
This was timely. Just this morning, Dr. Mercola announced that due to increasing threats, legal and otherwise, he will be permanently removing from the web nearly all of his COVID-related articles in addition to articles critical of Big Pharma. Frightening times and the GOP still thinks that playing by the rules will get us through what they imagine to be simply another day in a political game. Hint: the left is playing an entirely different game, you fools.
I'm writing on behalf of the Saker Latinoamerica team of translators (Portuguese and Spanish). We are the Saker branch in Latin America, and we are still active, although, unfortunately, the international Saker is no longer active.
We are interested in translating some of your articles for our blog. Would that be all right?
A collective thank you to you, sir, and take good care!
In my country this is called a violation of the ITE Law. If you deny covid and are anti-vaccine, you will be arrested for the crime of spreading false news and disturbing the public.
But no legal action has been taken in the name of covid. Many doctors do not take any action on the grounds of a pandemic, which causes many patients to die.

The jury is still out on that one.
Hi there! Decided to subscribe after your interview with Mr. Taibbi.
While none of this is very funny I gently remind you that totalitarians hate nothing more than laughter.
Cheers! Looking forward to reading more.

They are going to try to cancel you.
