OK, so this is really going to be a kind of “nuts-and-bolts” newsletter this time, i.e., without a lot of superfluous frou-frou and gratuitous, pseudo-literary gimcrackery, because there is a fair amount of actual news to convey this time, or at least two or three news items that I think might possibly interest you.
Item #1
I did this “rolling” interview with Margaret Anna Alice, a passionate writer focusing on media narratives, politics, propaganda, psychology, history, philosophy, language, film, art, music, literature, culture, and so on. It turned into a rather lengthy dialogue about the New Normal, global capitalism, totalitarianism, weird theater, and various other topics. Margaret has published the entire 10,000 - 12,000 word monster on her Substack, Margaret Anna Alice Through the Looking Glass, so, if you’re looking for something a bit more demanding than the usual “take of the day,” here you go ...
In addition to her Substack and other writing, Margaret seems to have something to do with this website, which appears to be run by old-fashioned anarchists, you know, the kind of anarchists that used to fiercely oppose the destabilization, restructuring, and privatization of everything by transnational corporations and supranational non-governmental governing organizations like the WEF and the WHO back in the 1990s and early 2000s. I could go on about all that — i.e., old-fashioned anarchism, and the pathetic global-capitalist-friendly mockery thereof that is today’s Antifa — but I’m trying to keep this newsletter relatively focused, so …
Item #2
I did this interview with Dr. Mercola about a month ago, or maybe six weeks ago, or whenever it was that I was just coming down with the “Apocalyptic Plague” for the second or possibly third time, which I mentioned in an essay or a newsletter, which prompted several of my subscribers to furiously cancel their paid subscriptions, and denounce me as “controlled opposition,” and publicly express their regret at having ever bought and read my books, and so on, i.e., my mentioning being sick prompted that, not the interview, because Dr. M just ran the interview a few days ago, and I’m totally fine now and no longer suffering from any of the acute catarrhal symptoms I exhibit in the interview.
Shortly after the interview was published, a number of former subscribers — possibly the same former subscribers that had furiously unsubscribed from my newsletter and began to intensely regret ever having bought and read any of my books after I got sick — wrote to me to explain, at some length, how Dr. Mercola is “controlled opposition,” and how my speaking to him for close to an hour in a video interview that people can only see by going to his website, because it’s censored by the global corporations that protect us from “disinformation” (i.e., the video is censored, not Dr. Mercola’s website) is just further proof that I am “controlled opposition” or a “shill” or whatever. Which brings us to …
Item #3
I tried to spread the word about that interview on Twitter, but apparently Dr. Mercola and I have been “identified as potentially harmful” by the Twitter Corporation and its partners, so this is what happened …
I also tried to spread the word about my dialogue with Margaret Anna Alice on Facebook, but that didn’t go very well either …
Yes, I realize that might not technically qualify as “Item #3,” as it pertains to Item #2, but it also pertains to Item #1, and it’s mostly about the rather extreme level (and the bizarre form) of slimy corporate censorship that the Consent Factory and I are being increasingly subjected to by immensely powerful and totally unaccountable Internet corporations and their undisclosed partners — which is why it’s a good thing you’re subscribed to my Substack — so I decided to make it “Item #3,” to try to concentrate your attention on the censorship thing, as opposed to on the interviews onto which I had already tried to concentrate your attention. Anyway …
Item #4
I’m assuming you read or at least cursorily glanced at my latest Consent Factory essay, The “Unvaccinated” Question (Revisited), explaining how, starting in the Autumn in New Normal Germany, “the Unvaccinated” (as well as the “only partially vaccinated”) will be required to wear medical-looking masks in public to visibly identify ourselves as the official Untermenschen of New Normal Germany, so I don’t think I have to explain all that again, but I wanted to share the latest update to that story …
That’s right, a color-coded “social credit system,” where we will all have to show our digital “papers” to some paper-checking goon at the door in order be able to eat at a restaurant, or go to the movies, or a museum, or otherwise participate in society, or not be able to participate in society, i.e., if you happen to be one of “the Unvaccinated,” as I and about twenty million other citizens and legal residents of Germany do).
And, finally, because I know you are probably still wondering about that photo at the top of this newsletter …
Item #5
If you’re receiving this newsletter in Edinburgh, or on your way to Edinburgh for the Festival, my oldest, most award-winning play is being performed at Assembly, where it was first performed in the UK and won a bunch of awards 20 years ago. I hear it’s a pretty good production ... two brilliant British actors, an award-winning director, and, well, go see it if you can.
That’s it. That’s the newsletter. I think I did moderately well in terms of resisting the (sometimes overwhelming) temptation to gussy it up with a lot of superfluous frou-frou and gratuitous, pseudo-literary gimcrackery, but I’ll let you be the judge of that.
Oh, and many thanks, as ever, to those of you supporting my political satire with your hard-earned (or inherited, or stolen) money! If any of you hundreds of new subscribers who have subscribed for free recently can afford to do that, but are not doing that because you imagine that I’m wealthy and don’t really need the money, rest assured, I do actually need the money. That said, if you can’t afford it right now, I’ll understand. After all, a lot of us are looking at 5-figure utility bills this Autumn and Winter … but, hey, whatever it takes to teach those evil Rooskies a lesson, right?
All best from sunny Berlin,
CJ
You are such a wonderful soul. Thank you again...
Thank you, CJ, for inaugurating my new interview series, Dissident Dialogues, with such electrifying brilliance and wit. I had a blast, and I hope you did, too :-)
