seriously Mr. Hopkins, that society doesn't deserve you. move to florida USA

But go where? My country, at least, (New Zealand) isn't any better, nor is Australia, and everyone in American bar about 6 people seem to have gone completely insane. It feels like the fall of the US empire is taking the whole of western civilization down with it and plunging us all rapidly into a new dark age, and I'm not sure that you can outrun it by moving somewhere else at this point. (Hope I'm wrong of course).

there are enought people in the West, ( US ) and elsewhere who still understand what freedom is

Yes, there are, but they don't have any political power. The oligarchy is in charge, not us; that's the problem.

In the USA, there are still a good 50% who resist the madness. In Germany, the majority believes the lie and feels good about it. That is the bad thing, that they feel good with it. I still play with the idea of escaping, but how when you reach a certain age and not enough income abroad.

At the moment the UK seems over it. There are no rules and regulations and even the lockdown politicians are changing sides. Everyone has moved on to how to pay their energy bills! I can't see people being willing or able to go back to covid restrictions now - some people wear masks still but we can all see and avoid them. I think a lot of British people are now rather embarrassed at how they behaved. They will be too busy dying of the cold this winter to worry about a cold virus!

Expand full comment

Yes, we have seamlessly moved from state imposed Covid restrictions to self imposed energy restrictions. The net result is the same, societal reduction.

In some parts of Europe, even masking was never a thing.

And to remind you: the US is one of the only countries requiring non-citizens to have the shot to enter, and there is still a mandate for healthcare workers.

Time to wake up.

I encourage everyone to join me in sharing my letter to the German Bundestag with the hashtag #FireKarlLauterbach:

This letter calls for the rejection of the Infection Protection Act amendments, reversal of all COVID legislation, and firing of Lauterbach.

I also include instructions on how to email this to the Bundestag. Thanks, everyone, for helping to build public pressure on the Bundestag to stop behaving like their historical predecessors 🙌

I think when you begin to see this all through the lens of the Managerial State that slowly, gradually dominated Western society starting 100 years ago, this all begins to make more sense. Those places in the world that most trust the managerial apparatus, and are probably the most "organized" in some sense, are the ones still doubling down on the entire pointless apparatus. Those places with lower trust in the apparatus either never did any of this, or gave up at some point over the last year.

Countries like Germany and Canada (and interestingly, most Nordic countries), have long been held out as great examples of where government works well. Their managerial class really gets it done "right." Now we can see more of the reality behind the curtain, and the downside in blind trust people have had in that apparatus. Good luck to the Germans in overcoming that cultural faith in the smart managers who are always right.

Expand full comment

Well, some of the Nordic countries did rather nail it. Or at least, they were the cleanest shirts in a pile full of shit-covered garments. Did you catch the Danish health minister in her interview with Freddie Sayers on Unherd? It was amazing to see what "follow the science" actually looks like! She said, we have our models, they've proven correct (while everyone else's models were failing) and they tell us it's time to be done with it all. So we are.

Amazing.

Expand full comment

It looks good on the surface, but those Nordics you mention are well ahead of the rest of the world on going cashless and microchipping their populations.

I would suggest that from the perspective of the WEFers, they didn't "need" to comply with the Covid fraud.

Yep - I think they have a verrrrry special experiment slated just for Canada. We know how these guys love to experiment, right? Something different for each country. Well...I suspect Canada is going to be their Darling...the citizens have been indoctrinated to believe that they are the nicest people around and are MUCH better than those idiot Americans south of them...and now we are proving to be extremely obedient. Canadian airlines still make people wear masks. And WE have ArriveCan which is an app that you must fill out upon arriving in your own damn country - that asks you your 'vaccine' status and where you're headed. We're the pilot country for this kind of surveillance! Ugh. Our Trucker movement was a beautiful thing and really strengthened us - but there are still so many people still believing the mainstream narrative. It's unfuckingbelievable. I don't know how they do it. Well, I have an idea but I don't think I'm allowed to say it here. Ha. Annnyway...

CJ, I was living in the UK until autumn of last year. I'd been there most of the past 20 years, even after divorce from my British husband. But the covid restrictions made it batshit crazy and I simply could not take living in that insane asylum. I'm American and decided that the crazy here in the US would be easier to take than the UK type of crazy.

Tore my heart out to leave but I've felt better since I started living in a red state. And I'm a effing liberal! It seems like you adopted Germany the way I did the UK, so I understand why you chose to stay there. I hope you can find peace and some kind of happiness there. I still dream of going back home to the UK but Europe as a whole needs to come to its senses.

Expand full comment

I've always wanted to move to the UK and if circumstances had been different about 7 years ago, I'd already be there. I still want to but, much like you, I need Europe as a whole to come back to its senses.

Expand full comment

Yes, I liked Europe. I want it back. Let's keep fighting for that until the last possible minute.

Yes! I refuse to be blackpilled about this situation. I want our relatively sane world back.

It's been heartbreaking to watch the breakdown of Europe over here in the States. I can imagine how it felt to watch it up close. I mean, obviously you have included a lot of your reaction in your essays, etc., but I'm sure there's a lot you couldn't put into words.

There are no restrictions in the UK now.

Aside from a completely broken health service, sky-high energy bills and a wrecked economy it's almost normal.

CJ, it's easy for them to say you should leave. I'm one of the few who's actually walked out on an adopted country that I love. It still hurts like hell. The Mariachi Years here on Substack is another one (https://themariachiyears.substack.com/).

Anyone who tells you that you should leave best be sitting there thinking about where they are going to go when things get bad.

We'd be honoured to host a refugee from Germany, CJ.

You can gather round the wood burner with us.

Well, unfortunately, that's almost normal status for the NHS. Yes, I've seen that your energy bills are going to double or something and the economy is a wreck. Best wishes for getting through the "Big Squeeze" as some are calling it. None of that influenced my decision to leave. It was having to live in such close proximity to the madness.

Reading the UK press, I wouldn't assume that you won't have mask mandates (or worse) soon. The autumn is almost here - peak covid restriction season!

Frankly, my American accent made me feel too conspicuous, and too easy a scapegoat, whenever I tried to resist it all before. You have no idea how much I admire CJ's courage. I couldn't fight all that alone.

It has been fascinating to watch the officialdom of America, even as the only people who still think there is a pandemic are the urban professional class, double down on more vaccinations for everybody. The federal government already purchased 171 million boosters for Omicron that haven't even been made, let alone tested. The new assumption in our medical upper classes is they are going to churn out mRNA "vaccines" for every illness under the sun, somehow certain we are going to continue to be bombarded by pandemics, and that the mRNA tech is so pure and clean (safe and effective) they no longer need to do any testing.

But it looks also like they are setting up Fauci to be a sacrificial lamb, a fat one at that. They think it will tamper the anger building, about the "vaccine" and covid policy damage our elite otherwise act as though does not exist. I wrote a bit about that the other day:

It’s the same in Mexico where I live. They never stopped wearing masks. One of the most corrupt countries where no one follows the law and the police give you an opportunity to bribe them when they stop you... but when it comes to masks, you’re treated like a serial killer if you dare not wear one! I despair!

Expand full comment

That's funny. I'm in Indonesia which, as an Asian country, is very predisposed to wearing masks. However, it just sort of stopped a few months ago. Actually, let me rephrase. In the more rural parts of Indonesia it was literally never a thing. It's like the farther you got away from a TV station tower, the less mask wearing you saw. But even in the densest parts now, the urban areas, mask wearing is way, way down. I'm sorry it's not the same for Me-hee-co

Expand full comment

Actually, here, the more educated they are, the more they cling to their masks. The wealthy were also the first ones to go to the US to get the V. My issues are mainly with the supermarkets now. Sadly it looks like most of the kids will have to be masked at school too... good to see that Asia and Indonesia has some common sense left.

Here in New Normal Chile....please add us to your New Normal list, has upped the anti. The majority of people still wear the contaminated face diapers when there's no law that says we have to wear them outside but, we must wear them inside all establishments, except when we eat where we are protected by an invisible shield.

The newly elected, so-called progressive President Gabriel Boric, whose Interior Minister Dr Izkia Siches, the second most important person in government is a WEF Young Global Leader. I have no doubt that she's leading our health department and continues the call for more mandates and shots. The health minister Dr María Yarza announced last week that they were very upset so many people (over 1.7 million) have not gotten their next clot shot. In so many words: We know who you are....we know where you work.... we know where you live so expect a knock at your door. These statements caused an uproar around the country, FINALLY! We're one of the most shot-up and sheepish countries in the world, and #1 in South America. Our government likes to mix and match many of the clot shots we have in our arsenal. What could go wrong? They also announced that they'll start shooting up infants as young as 6 months without showing any proof they need them.

More and more people are reporting on social media about all the excess deaths and injuries from the shots- mainstream media of course like everywhere else never reports anything the government doesn't want the people to know. More people are starting to speak out against the shots and being Nazified by the government. I can only hope they come out into the streets to protest, like they did in October of 2019 by the millions because only a few brave souls in the government have come out and said anything negative about this ramped up totalitarianism.

So, we join you brave Germans and others who are fighting the New Normal regime to stop them from destroying us further but I think we have a ways to go before we can join the other countries who have moved on.

Expand full comment

Thank you ... it's important to keep speaking out about what's going on in various countries all around the world, because so many people are adopting an "it's all over now" mentality. And it isn't all over.

I agree. My husband and I always talk to as many people as possible when we're in the city- we live in the foothills of the Andes, about the lies and silence from the government. Strangely, most say they know it's bad to wear a mask for instance, esp. the children as they walk away with a mask on, and sadly on their children, or we congratulate them for not wearing a mask. So, we'll continue to join the ever growing masses who are waking up and we'll continue to speak out. Thanks for all your work as well. We always look forward to your posts.

Hiya,

Masks can't ever be shown to stop the spread of disease as disease isn't spread between people; even breathing directly into someones face with fetid breath; Some experiments were set up to show the mode of transmission of this highly virulent and deadly virus. The experiments on 'Spanish Flu' patients were published in 1918 ‘Experiments Upon Volunteers to Determine the Cause and Mode of Spread of Influenza, Boston, November and December, 1918 M. J. Rosenau.’ (see page 11) (1).

They showed that after 62 healthy volunteers were exposed to the alleged virus by breathing the fetid air of very sick ‘flu’ patients and having them repeatedly cough in their faces, much to the researchers surprise; only one developed a sore throat and not one developed influenza like illness at all. https://georgiedonny.substack.com/p/how-does-transmission-of-illness

There was never a need for a virus or a pandemic which seemed to respect national borders https://georgiedonny.substack.com/p/seeing-is-believing - it was always all about control
