Life is deep and profound but also trying and pointless at times. Please keep trying to awaken us and find a way to forgive the vast majority who are lost in embracing some form or another of irrationality or zealotry.
Capitalism has many flaws but our current dilemma seems more to do with the fact that we don't have a sound and stable form of money anywhere in the world and we're ruled by evil bankers who can create it out of nothing and enslave us because we need it to exist.
Peace and love in one person's heart can give us hope for optimism in tomorrow's world. Smile and carry on is enough sometimes, at least for me
Great interview and discussion. I agree on nearly every point and see the matters much in the same way.
However...there are no "pure market forces." Which is why I don't particularly like "GlobalCap" as a term or name. There are no market forces at play. Look at the inordinate transfer of wealth which occurred with "Covid" as a result of enforced business shutdowns. There's been no genuine "market forces" since the late 1700s wars which were financed and political outcomes purchased.
The nature of the current system is always that companies are subsumed. They're eaten. Look at the giant conglomerates which hold brand name after brand name. They subsume competition. Look at how the tech world is arranged. Start-ups are subsumed by conglomerates. Once subsumed, the product deteriorates in nearly every single instance or is removed from public usage. I used to buy one processed lasagne years ago because it was surprisingly very good. That brand, long ago, was bought, subsumed, and became three lasagne noodles with a thin layer of sauce and little sprinkle of cheese on top for the same price. How many tech developments were taken away from people and licensed under an enormous fee? How many tech developments only interact with certain systems?
I agree an ideology reigns which measures and values everything according to money or material evaluation. This is a spiritual crisis allowed to happen by the people who are essentially free and willing to be lobotomized by smartphones, AI, and social media. They've willingly given up their prerogatives and freedom. Another example might be artists being paid by a social democracy which then extracts their freedoms if they "cross a line." What did anyone expect? All governments have "lines." For God's sake...now the "general public" is required to subsidize "independent writers" if they want anything outside of MSM. Support your local X tweeter or Substack writer. Why? You're playing the system "GlobalCap" has devised. Why play?
GlobalCap evolves into a totalitarian regime because it has nothing left to do? Come on. BS. "The System" has ALWAYS been one of control. They're simply able to move and carp diem--Seize the day!!--so they do so as either opportunities arise and they "create" opportunities.
Those with this level of money and power thought that, with "Covid," they could "close the deal" and bring forth Agenda 30 early. Because of their wealth and power, they believe themselves "special" and anointed...which is a common failure of people with rampaging egos.
If anyone is on any social media, they're basically on a propaganda apparatus. Sift the news. Sift the facts. Determine "truth" for yourself. I agree with CJ on Musk, Twitter Files, USAID, etc. And, yes, a cartoon narrative is always presented. Right now, the directive is to subsume those who "want freedom." As CJ says, a natural, human desire. How much are you going to support the system by participating in it and deriving economic benefit? The oldsters have no choice. This choice is presented the young.
My love and respect! C J you were and still are the main reason I started in 2020, and still want, to be informed about our world, and do my bit to spread the word, without having a fix, or a hero, or a cult. I've lost friends too, and irritated family members. P.S. my take on Oct 7th is that Hamas mainly went in to collect hostages whilst the IDF or Satanyahu - waiting in the wings - provided for the Hannibal massacre - another false flag, to justify the final (long planned) extinction.
Working great for me folks...just click on the podcast window at the bottom...or maybe it's your geographical location? Check your VPN and place yourself outside the US? CJ, have you flushed your sinuses with salt water and upped your vitamin C/D intake? :-) And GET into the SUN!! I imagine after a winter in Berlin you're low on Vitamin D.
Capitalism: all value measured by markets (exchange value, money). (That's clearly a BS definition, btw -- as his own example of "the best actor" proves.)
Social democracy: all value measured by markets (exchange value, money) in which Leviathan participates in order to impose its own hegemonic (allegedly "non-market," "non-exchange value," "non-pecuniary"(?!) -- wink wink) values (e.g., CJ's "Kuenstlersozialkasse" -- somewhat vulgarly translated: "Artist's Social Cash Register") -- which imposition of values naturally, it so happens, includes Leviathan's own interpretation-of-the-moment of "individual rights" (e.g., CJ's right to freedom of speech, and limitations thereto).
Thanks , that was a wonderful interview. I especially liked your summary of your position on Israel and Palestinians. Your point about non violence was very thought provoking.
Pretty safe to say that at least post-ceasefire in Gaza meets your qualifications of non-violent resistance - although in reality that status began at least a year ago tbfh. Now the world has become gravid for its next 9/11 backlash catastrophe. Thanks for sharing the interview.
Thank you. Wonderful interview.

loved the interview. thank you. Aya Velazquez sounds like a very good journalist, such a rarity these days.

Well worth the listen - Stay with it CJ, you're a voice in the darkness.

Watched it on Youtube. Most excellent interview!
Paul Kingsnorth calls it the machine.
So what CJ is saying...
Capitalism: all value measured by markets (exchange value, money). (That's clearly a BS definition, btw -- as his own example of "the best actor" proves.)

I like hearing you interviewed, CJ. You're a great speaker.

AT this point in time: When American people have NO money to subsrcribe to multiple substacs
What exactly is substack doing to AID these Journalists?
Nothing!
I suggest that a 'fund' is set up on substack.
We who can afford to pay 'our' Journalists, SHOULD be 'helping.'
Set up a 'fund.' NOW.
go right ahead, it's a wonderful idea.
You fell for a system troll who defamed the entire critical opposition.
Thank You CJ
Nothing to see or hear! Not working.
Not working Chris…
